The IIT JEE has two levels: JEE Advanced and JEE Main. After passing JEE Main, those who meet the requirements can enrol in JEE Advanced. JEE Main and JEE Advanced are alternately administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and an IIT.

While JEE Advanced includes objective-type questions and questions with single-digit integer solutions, JEE Main includes multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and questions based on numerical values.
